Salt & Pepper Nuts
Last fall, we had a big family weekend in our favorite college town. Family get togethers are just made for special food & extra eating enjoyment so my mom brought these amazing salt & pepper mixed nuts for our big clan to enjoy as a snack for the weekend. She had just made up the recipe & didn’t have any measurements, so I decided to figure out the amounts of each ingredient & share it with you.
So I guess technically, this is my mom’s recipe - but she gave me permission to use it ;) Y’all, these nuts are sooooo good. I love to snack on nuts for the health benefits but honestly, sometimes I get tired of plain, raw nuts & just need a little flavor to spice things up. These salt & pepper nuts do the job!
I don’t generally like to buy pre-packaged nuts that are salted or flavored because it is very hard to find them made with pure ingredients. Most pre-package, salted or flavored nuts are full of highly refined oils & often have tons of added sugars & preservatives. By making them at home, you can be sure you get the best quality ingredients. If you do buy salted nuts at the store be sure to look for dry roasted & salted, instead of ones that have added oils.
If you want another twist on some yummy nuts, try these savory spiced pecans as well.
