Herbs de Provence
I love making up bulk spices & seasonings. It helps make cooking feel easy & unforced when you already know how a particular jar of seasoning flavors your food.
Herbs de Provence is a spice mixture that comes from the Provence region of France. I created this Herbs de Provence recipe after I had purchased a jar of this seasoning & then couldn’t find that specific brand again. I loved the unique flavor profile that especially came from the addition of the lemon peel & lavender.
This seasoning is my go to for everything from browning meat for spaghetti to simply grilling fish or chicken. It’s also great over roasted vegetables. Add a little salt & pepper onto whatever you are cooking & your meal will be delicious.
Many additives that are used in commercial seasonings contribute to inflammation & gut healthy issues. The anti-caking ingredients & soy blends that are used can creep in & cause health issues you are trying to avoid. Not to mention, many store bought mixes have added sugar!
Make your own special herbs today & give it a try. I think you’ll quickly see how much better & easier it is!
